about
Ahhh the connective torch that guides the spirit of this journey it initiated, reflecting on the different kinds of closeness we have (or don't) to the people we share these spaces with - buildings and streets, those just on the other side of walls and just across the space between windows, up or down stairs. The struggles and niceties, sometimes separate but sensed, or sometimes felt and shared together communally. This stated mission of What The Neighbors -----? also reflects on the experiences of others which we aren't aware of, and how drastically these can differ from ours, yet only be a few steps away.
We have many neighbors, some who are quite public, and so many who are very private. Every day we communicate with each other without even needing to say anything, just in the passings of daily rituals and errands. Only through the art of community, do we get to catch just a little sense of what the experience of those next to us might be like. This requires us to actively be the community we want to be a part of.
We push out these sonic vibrations into the void, and create offerings over fire sending signals to those in the vicinity, signals that express life is being lived with flavor and zest. We are artists and thereby live loudly, communicating with a certain forcefulness across what can otherwise be taut silences.
We say what we think is cool, and what we don't think is at all cool, in fact pointing out that which is unacceptable - too many things of that particular variety abound these days.
Is this song about all of this? Yeah, it really kind of is, and burrowed divets for the rest of this album to explore in and expand from.
lyrics
"This is a fraction of what I wanna say, I know how ridiculous that sounds, with how many words I throw around. I go town on it though, cause going to town used to be a whole ordeal, we were some pioneers for real, and I'm sure many of them were decent folk, it only takes a couple crapbirds to turn us backwards..."

Big vibes reverberate in this masterful work by the beatsmith Pawcut which cuts pretty deep, deeper than the first listen revealed but that was no prob as it begs to be spun again and again. Pseudo Slang
